What is the difference between a dedicated server and a virtual private server?
Posted by iDAQ Support Admin on 11 May 2004 06:00 PM
There is very little difference between a dedicated server and a virtual private server. They both provide full root access to the operating system and both allow you to install your own software and system libraries. The main difference is that a dedicated server runs on dedicated hardware but the virtual private server runs on hardware that is shared with other virtual private servers.
