What DNS records do I need to create for my hosting account?
Posted by iDAQ Support Admin on 18 May 2004 10:31 PM
If you have a hosting account with us but you domain is registered with another host you will have to ask your current registrar to create the required DNS records for your domain name to resolve to your hosting account. The default records to create are listed below.

It is much better to transfer the domain name to us as all DNS records will be automatically updated whenever you make any changes to your site, you will also benefit from our low renewal fees.

The default DNS records are:

(replace 000.000.000.000 with the ip address provided by us in your welcome email)

ftp.yourdomain.co.uk. CNAME yourdomain.co.uk.
mail.yourdomain.co.uk. A 000.000.000.000
yourdomain.co.uk. A 000.000.000.000
yourdomain.co.uk. MX (10) mail.yourdomain.co.uk.
webmail.yourdomain.co.uk. A 000.000.000.000
www.yourdomain.co.uk. CNAME yourdomain.co.uk.
