Where can I find a range of secure CGI scripts?
Posted by John Imison on 20 November 2005 04:40 PM

nms is an attempt to provide replacements for all of the scripts from Matt's Script Archive. MSA is probably the most well-known archive of CGI programs currently available on the web. Among the Perl community, the MSA scripts are known to be badly-written, buggy and insecure.

nms was started when a group of Perl programmers got tired of telling people not to use Matt's programs and getting the reply "But what shall I use instead?"

nms has a range of free scripts such as covering :

  • Subroutines for manipulating cookies
  • Count down the time to a certain date
  • Simple database of web links
  • A simple guest book script
  • Image counter
  • Display a random image
  • Display a random link
  • Display a randomly chosen piece of text
  • Simple web site search engine
  • Display a random image using SSI
  • Display the time
  • Text counter
  • Improved Form Mail
  • WWW Message Board

nms can be found at http://nms-cgi.sourceforge.net/
